Daniel Keys Moran

In response to my prior Open Letter about his unpublished novel, has posted a comment, which reads in part:

In any event, AI War is the only thing I'll be working on this summer, and once it's clean, I'm going to roll into the concluding sequel -- it's been years since I've written SF, but I am going to publish AI War and its sequel, Crystal Wind, before the people who care about it succumb to Alzheimers.

He also has a new blog at danielkeysmoran.blogspot.com.

AI War!!!!!

We hardly ever pass a tall building being built without Z saying wistfully that they could use it to film The Long Run, only he calls it "That one about Trent the Uncatchable".

I've been waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting and praying that DKM doesn't die before releasing these novels...

The last time a DKM novel came out I was in college and I've now got sprinkles of grey in my hair and am about to have my first child. Trent the Uncatchable is, hands-down, my favorite science fiction character of all time...and I read a lot of sci-fi (though maybe not as much as Kate). We find out the sex of the child today, and if it's a boy I was considering naming him Trent. Unfortunately, we looked it up and it means "someone who lives by the river Trent." Mmmm...not the most inspiring meaning...
