Yesterday, my folks stopped by for the night, on the way back from the Finger Lakes. They brought us a couple bottles of wine; we drank most of the "Bobsled Red", which as a mix is hardly fancy but is very drinkable. There's about two glasses left and I had to restrain myself from finishing it tonight, since I was making cookies after dinner.
The weather finally broke late this week, and once again I lost a should-have-been productive day to sitting outside and reading (The Lies of Locke Lamora, coming soon to a booklog near you). In my defense, I was just short enough on sleep to make concentration difficult.
Randomness:
- I haven't gotten around to watching any of the many "Total Eclipse of the Heart" videos out there, but apparently they are something.
- The dog has started eating birdseed off the ground. I don't think it can be doing her any harm, as it's passing right through, but if anyone has information otherwise, please do let us know.
- Does anyone know anything about The Glass Books of the Dream Eaters, by Gordon Dahlquist? There's a full-page ad for it on the back cover of this month's Locus, with a blurb by Diana Gabaldon that caught my eye; I spent a while flipping through it in the bookstore, and it seemed readable, but it's a long darn book to start without knowing more about.
- Why is Bubble Shooter so addictive?
