Dad's obituary

Donald R. Nepveu, 57, peacefully died March 1, 2009 in the warmth and comfort of his Tewksbury home, following a courageous lifetime health battle ending with cancer. He was the beloved husband of Linda (Goodwin) Nepveu with whom he celebrated 36 years of marriage.

He was born in Hooksett, NH on October 27, 1951, the second son of Maurice Nepveu of Bow, NH and the late Yolande (St. Germain) Nepveu. Mr. Nepveu graduated from Concord High School and received his Associates Degree in Business Administration from Concord College in Manchester, NH. Until recently, he was CFO for Strickler Holdings in Boston.

Mr. Nepveu enjoyed travelling, bicycling, hiking and his prized BMW Z-3. He loved music and was skilled at playing a variety of instruments including the guitar, piano, saxophone and banjo. He adored his loyal companion, a Boston Terrier named Truman, and doted on his granddaughters. A devoted husband and father, he worked hard to provide a stable and loving home. Mr. Nepveu will be remembered as a kind and honest man with strong ethics. He will be greatly missed.

In addition to his wife, he leaves two children, Kate Nepveu and her husband, Chad Orzel of Niskayuna, NY and Adam Nepveu and his wife, Beth of Reading, PA. He was also the grandfather of Claire Orzel and Leiacha Nepveu. Mr. Nepveu was the brother of Roy Nepveu and his wife Paula, of Bow, NH and Catherine Herlihy and her husband Patrick, of Penacook, NH. He also leaves several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and in-laws.

A wake will be held on Sunday, March 8, 2009 at Tewksbury Funeral Home, 1 Dewey Street, Tewksbury from 2pm-5pm. Relatives and friends invited to celebrate his memory. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing so may honor Mr. Nepveu with a contribution to Merrimack Valley Hospice, 360 Merrimack Street, Bldg. 9, Lawrence, MA 01843.
